This piece is about existing between two worlds. As someone from Brazil living in Berlin, it can be hard to live with the feeling of not belonging. Some days, it feels like crossing the driest territories - like the landscape of my homeland, Brazil’s Northeast, called Sertão.

The whale appears as a sign not to lose connection with our wisdom. Our ancestry is always carrying us with calm and strength, helping us navigate - even with uncertainty - through hostile and arid terrain.

A woman with curly brown hair, tattoos on her arms, and wearing a black dress sitting on the floor, holding a framed piece of artwork featuring a stylized desert scene with a red bird and cacti, against a textured concrete wall.
